product description

The 310S Stainless Steel Sintered Powder Filter Element is a premium high-temperature filtration solution engineered for extreme thermal environments where standard stainless steel filters degrade rapidly. With its compact dimension, this miniature sintered filter delivers precision particle retention in a space-constrained package, making it ideal for high-temperature instrumentation, sampling lines, and specialized process applications that require the highest heat resistance.

This filter is constructed from 310S austenitic stainless steel, a high-alloy material specifically formulated for unmatched resistance to oxidation, carburization, and thermal cycling in high-temperature atmospheres. Unlike conventional 304 or 316L stainless steel grades that degrade rapidly above 600°C, 310S contains approximately 25% chromium and 20% nickel—significantly higher than standard grades—providing outstanding high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance.

product FEATURES

* Exceptional Mechanical Strength at Elevated Temperatures: The sintered monolithic structure and 310S alloy composition provide outstanding resilience against thermal cycling and high mechanical loads.

* Superior Oxidation and High-Temperature Corrosion Resistance: Outperforms standard stainless steel grades in oxidizing, sulfidizing, and carburizing atmospheres found in heat treatment, combustion, and chemical processes.

* Depth Filtration with Precision Control: Available filtration ratings from 0.2μm to 100μm with uniform pore distribution and narrow pore size range. The three-dimensional interconnected pore network captures contaminants throughout the entire media thickness, providing high dirt-holding capacity and extended service life compared to surface-type filters.

* High Porosity and Low Pressure Drop: Achieves 30–50% porosity with uniform pore structure, ensuring excellent permeability, low flow resistance, and stable flow output even with viscous fluids.

1. Efficient filtration: Fiberglass filters have very small pore sizes, which can filter out small particles and impurities in water, greatly improving water quality.

2. Chemical corrosion resistance: Fiberglass filters have characteristics such as acid resistance, alkali resistance, and high temperature resistance, and can also be used normally in chemical environments.

3. Long service life: Fiberglass filters usually have a longer service life than ordinary filters, usually reaching more than six months.

4. Easy to maintain: The maintenance of fiberglass filter is relatively simple, only requiring regular cleaning or replacement, and the maintenance cost is relatively low.

Understanding the difference between 310S and 316L stainless steel is essential for selecting the right filter for extreme thermal environments. While both materials offer excellent performance, they are optimized for fundamentally different operating conditions.

FAQ

Q: Can this filter element be cleaned and reused?
A: Yes. One of the key advantages of sintered metal filters is their reusability. Common cleaning methods include:

  • * Controlled thermal cycling: For ash or soot contaminants

  • * Gentle backflushing: To dislodge captured particles

  • * Ultrasonic cleaning: For thorough removal of embedded contaminants

  • * Specialized chemical passivation or acid cleaning: For tenacious deposits

  • * High-temperature regeneration: Burning off organic contaminants
The robust 310S material allows for aggressive cleaning methods that would damage other filters. After regeneration, filtration performance recovers by up to 90%.

Q: What is the porosity and pressure drop of this filter?
A: The sintered powder structure achieves 30–50% porosity, ensuring excellent permeability, low flow resistance, and stable flow output even with viscous fluids. Initial clean pressure drop is very low. As the element loads with contaminants, pressure drop increases gradually.

Q: What is the porosity of this filter element?
A: The sintered powder structure achieves 30–50% porosity, ensuring excellent permeability, low pressure loss, and high flow rate.

Q: Is this element suitable for cryogenic applications?
A: Yes. 310S stainless steel maintains excellent mechanical properties down to cryogenic temperatures. The material can be used in applications ranging from -196°C (cryogenic) up to 1200°C (high-temperature) , providing remarkable versatility across extreme temperature ranges.

Q: What is the difference between sintered powder and sintered mesh filters?
A: Sintered powder filters provide finer filtration down to 0.2μm, capture particles throughout the media thickness (depth filtration), and offer higher dirt-holding capacity. They are ideal for high-purity applications where heat and corrosion resistance are critical. Sintered mesh filters have coarser ratings (starting at 1–5μm) and are better suited for high-flow, high-viscosity applications.
